Syracuse University Men's Club Hockey took their rivalry a bit too far this past weekend at New York University.

Fights at a hockey game are nothing new in fact it would be news if a game was played and there were no fights, that is unless the fight was with fans and not the other team. Normally, if there is a fight it is on the ice and not after the game.

The end result at this point is Syracuse University has suspended it's Men's Club Hockey team after some of its players fought with fans following a game last Saturday evening at NYU.

The official word coming out of SU is all Men's Hockey Club team activities, including all games and practices, have been suspended. There will be a thorough investigation to determine further disciplinary action.

A short video clip was posted on a website that shows players reported to be from Syracuse were fighting with fans from NYU. The altercation took place at the Chelsea Piers sports complex in Manhattan.
