BREAKING JOBS NEWS: Syracuse University has a plan to increase campus security by hiring 90 new safety officers.

The school’s Department of Public Safety will provide 24-hour safety assurance and coverage for students with more full time residential community safety officers. These officers will be stationed at the entrance of every residential hall, checking the identification of each person entering buildings, and signing in friends and family members who are visiting as guests.

Job responsibilities include:
-Preparation of written reports and utilization of radio equipment to report emergencies
-Effective and polite communication of university policies to visitors and students

Requirements for the positions involve:
-Background checks
-Passing a drug test and future random drug screenings
-Completion of a field training program

The jobs would entail 4-day work weeks and would be split between day and night shifts. There are between 50-60 full time positions available, they come with benefits, and a conditional $500 signing bonus. Apply here.
