Former Syracuse Center Justin Outten Coaching In Super Bowl 51
Former Syracuse center Justin Outten is on the Atlanta Falcons' coaching staff and will try to help lead a victory against the New England Patriots in Super Bowl 51.
Fans might remember Outten, a three-year starter at center for the Orange in the mid-2000's. However this weekend, he won't be on the field playing, he's an offensive assistant coach with the Atlanta Falcons who works with the offensive line.
According to Syracuse.com, Outten went to Houston to take a job as a special education teacher and football coach at Westfield High School after Syracuse.
"Growing up watching the NFL on Sunday, you have your normal Super Bowl parties in college and being around when you're growing up saying I want to be there one day, playing or, as I got older, coaching," Outten told Kracz. "When we finally beat the Packers (in the NFC championship game), it hit me how lucky I am that there are guys on this staff who have been coaching for 25, 30 years and have never been to this point. It's something I will never forget," Outten said.
Best of luck Coach going into a big weekend, and hopefully a big victory.
