It may say spring on the calendar but someone forgot to tell Mother Nature. A mixed bag of snow, sleet, freezing rain and cold temperatures will make it feel more like winter in Central New York, creating a slippery commute.

A wintry mix will continue through Wednesday morning (4/21) in Oneida, Onondaga and Madison counties. The National Weather Service the weather will change to mainly snow showers by the afternoon. Snow and sleet accumulations of 1 to 3 inches are expected, with the highest amounts in the higher elevations.

Temperatures fall into the 20s Wednesday night with more scattered lake effect snow showers. Roads may be snow covered and slippery at times, especially over the higher terrain and at night. Give yourself extra time to get to where you're going.

Hard to believe temperatures were near 80 just a few weeks ago.

The snow won't stick around long with temperatures warming into the 50s on Friday and lower 60s on Saturday.

Thursday: Snow showers likely before 11am, then a chance of rain and snow showers between 11am and 1pm, then a chance of rain showers after 1pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 40. Breezy, with a west wind 14 to 21 mph, with gusts as high as 34 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Thursday Night: A slight chance of rain and snow showers before midnight, then a slight chance of snow showers between midnight and 2am. Partly cloudy, with a low around 30. West wind 11 to 16 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 55.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 63.
