Spooky Season is Here: Paint Your Own Pumpkin or Sugar Skull
It's officially fall, so it's now socially acceptable to break out all the typical fall things: pumpkins, apple cider, even spooky Halloween decorations. If you're ready to dive headfirst into fall, a local art studio has a painting event that will certainly get you in the spirit for the coziest and spookiest season of the year.
Painting With a Twist in New Hartford is back open for in-person classes and is holding an event this Friday, September 25 at 7 p.m. where visitors can paint their own pumpkin or sugar skull.
$20 will get you all you need to paint your newest fall home decor. Whether you choose to paint a faux pumpkin or sugar skull, you can then use any of the provided materials, from sparkly gems to glitter and faux flowers and much more, to make your creation truly yours.
Painting With a Twist's artists will be on-site and ready to help you transfer your vision and encourage you along the way.
And if you fear you'll get a little snacky or you'd like to bring along a favorite beverage, the studio encourages bringing your own food and drinks. You can even bring along your favorite bottle of wine, although you must be 21 years or older to drink alcohol in the studio.
Registration for the pumpkin and sugar skull painting event is now open through Painting With a Twist's website. All ages are welcome, but participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Masks will be required upon entering and until you reach your seat, and if you register with a friend or family member, you should note that during registration. All separate parties will be seated six feet apart to maintain social distancing standards.
