The speed and grace of speed skating will take over the ice rink at the Great New York State Fairs new Exposition Center, on Wednesday, August 29th for a day-long event open to everyone from the speediest skaters to the youngest novices. Syracuse /speed Skating Club will run the day of races. Registration is free and open to all skaters. Participants receive admission for themselves and their families, along with a parking pass.

Races will be held with the top three finishers receiving medals. Also, a relay meet for two groups of skaters ages 5 to12 and 13 to Masters.

"This is just the latest event to join the roster of exciting competitions and exhibitions in our tempory ice rink this year. Speed skating is so cool to watch during the Olympics so I'm genuinely excited to see our visitors try their hand at this sport, how fast people can go on skates and I know lots of other fairgoers will be  as well," said Acting Fair Director Troy Waffner
