Ravi Shankar the Indian sitar player best known for collaborating with Beatle George Harrison has died at age 92.

The Hindustan Times reports that Shankar passed away at a hospital in San Diego.  According to the BBC, the musician had spent the past week in the hospital.

Shankar was admitted to the Scripps Memorial Hospital in San Diego last week after complaining of breathing difficulties, reports say.
