Apart from the recent teaser and what we saw from Comic-Con 2013, 'Sherlock' season 3 has been kept under tighter lock and key than Moriarty himself, so when will we get another look at the great detective's return? The latest look at Benedict Cumberbatch's return as Sherlock Holmes has arrived in a new BBC spot, and the game is on!

Though 'Sherlock' can only be seen briefly within the new BBC fall drama trailer that includes the likes of 'Ripper Street,' Peter Capaldi's 'The Musketeers,' 'The Great Train Robbery,' 'Quirke,' David Tennant's 'The Escape Artist,' 'What Remains' and  'By Any Means,' we do get a few tantalizing tidbits. Judging by the position of the sun, it looks as if Sherlock will return to the site of his "demise,' at another point having to convince an understandably hesitant John (Martin Freeman) to return to work with him.

Meanwhile, in addition to the footage screened and details gleaned at Comic-Con, we most recently learned of season 3 that Danish actor Lars Mikkelsen (brother to ‘Hannibal”s Mads) has joined in the villainous role of “Charles Augustus Magnussen,” a character with no direct literary counterpart, but one that likely corresponds to 1904 Sir Arthur Conan Doyle story “The Adventure of Charles Augustus Milverton.”

'Sherlock' season 3 has yet to set an official release date on either side, but preview the detective's return in the spot above, and give us your predictions for the new series in the comments!
