You can scoop up an iconic ice cream shop in central New York. The owners are retiring after 10 years and have put the Remsen business up for sale.

Ward's Drive-In is on the market. "The rumors are true," said owner Janet Grogan. "We've had an amazing 10 years and now it's time to have some summer time off."

Leroy and Janet Grogan purchased Ward's Drive In in 2011 with their daughter Heather and her husband Jason Schantz. "Our daughter started working for the Ward's in 2001 when she was 14 years old," said Janet. "She actually met her husband Jason there."

Heather loved working at Ward's and always said she was going to buy the place some day. "The first time it went up for sale, she was too young but the second time she called mom and dad," Janet said.

10 years later, Janet said it's time for a change. "My husband recently retired from Corrections, so we would like to travel."

The Grogan's are looking forward to retirement but will miss the summer season at Ward's Drive-In. "We have met a lot of wonderful people over the years and have had some awesome employees. We definitely will miss our famous Thursday night Cruise In car nights, Tractor Night and of course our annual Fire Truck night."

Ward's Drive-In is located on Route 365, one mile off of Route 12. It's not listed for sale with a realtor. Aany interested buyers can reach out to the Grogan's through the Drive-In Facebook page or email Janet at janetgrogan409@gmail.com.
