Science Fiction Movies And Reality Meet Once Again With ‘Roboy’ And ‘Leap Motion Controllers’

From video conferencing and touch-screen technology to space travel and everything in between, science fiction always has a way of inspiring us in our endeavors and once again appears to have crossed over into our daily lives. This time, A.I. Artificial Intelligence and Minority Report are the inspiration, while Roboy and Leap Motion Controllers are the new reality.

After watching Will Smith battle robots in A.I. Artificial Intelligence looks like I wasn't the only one that thought that future wasn't all that far off, but now it's closer than we realized. Looks like 'Roboy' is the next generation in humanoid robotics and is supposed to be 'born' a week from now at a convention called 'Robots On Tour'. What makes this robot revolutionary compared to other mind-blowing humanoid robots in existence is that he has tendon-driven joints rather than motor-driven ones which will make his movements much more human-like.
