You didn't witness it, but exactly 100 years ago the first World War was raging in Europe, that is except for one time when the guns fell silent. As the story goes, it was Christmas Eve and the Brits, holed up in their trenches to keep warm suddenly heard the Germans start singing Silent Night (which incidentally was written by a German another hundred years prior.)

This kicked off an evening of caroling from trench to trench and at dawn the following morning, both parties emerged from their hiding places to commiserate with each other and even kick the soccer ball around a bit. Here's how that might've looked... It's a wonder how any of them were able to pick up their weapons and fire at each other after something like that...
