Rookie T.J. Miller Scores First Two Goals As Rangers Top Islanders [VIDEO]

Teenage rookie T.J. Miller, 19, scored his first two professional goals to held lead the Rangers to a 4-1 victory of their in-state rivals, the Islanders on Thursday night at Madison Square Garden.

Miller tells ESPN.com, he expects to more on the front end of the Rangers future goals:

"I am more of a playmaker," said Miller, who won't turn 20 until March. "I've always had more assists than goals."

Just not yet in the NHL.

Miller was kept off the scoresheet in his debut on Tuesday -- a 3-1 loss at New Jersey -- and didn't add any assists on Thursday en route to claiming the "Broadway Hat" as the game's MVP.

 

Henrik Lundqvist stopped 27 of the 28 shots he faced.

Ryan McDonagh had an empty netter, and Marc Staal added two assists for the Blueshirts (5-5)

John Taveres scored his fifth goal of the year for the Islanders (4-5-1).
