One-time Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant imposed himself on singer-songwriter Amy Cook recently, not that she objected. Cook is releasing her new album ‘Summer Skin’ on Aug. 28, and it will feature a track with Plant called ‘It’s Gonna Rain.’

You can hear the song at Rolling Stone‘s website. Cook says she wasn’t planning on including Plant as a guest artist. ‘Summer Skin’ already included tracks featuring Patty Griffin and Ben Kweller. “Robert Plant had come to the studio with Patty and was sitting next to me in the control room and he said, ‘Do you mind if I give it a go?’” Cook tells the magazine.

“I did not mind. He sang it a couple of times and it was perfect.”

The ballad relies on a deep acoustic groove that swaddles Cook and Plant’s smokey voices. The older of the two singers mostly serves as a backing vocalist. Griffin is his longtime partner. The two play together in the Band of Joy and the Sensational Space Shifters. Earlier this month he released a live album with the Space Shifters.
