Northern NY Real Live ‘Whooville’ Is Back

Ever dream of celebrating Christmas in Whoville with the Grinch? Well, you can, and it's FREE!

It's the annual Whoobalation in Historic Sackets Harbor, NY. A special holiday festival for families to enjoy on Saturday, December 1 and Saturday, December 8. Join the fun of Whooville (spelled slightly different) in the Harbor from 10 am - 4 pm. It's a real live Whooville where you can meet the Grinch, Martha May Whovier, Mayor Augustus Maywho, Betty Lou Who, and Lou Lou Who the Postman and Max, the dog. They will also be in the parade along with Santa and many others at 4:30.

Some of the activities include:

• A Cindy Lou craft cubby
• The Grinch game galley
• Grinch Run
• Who Do Hair Salon
• The Grinch movie at the library
• Christmas concert and performances
• Horse & Wagon Rides
• Face Painting

“Whooville in the Harbor” is the brainchild of  Marsha Maxon, a retired teacher, and owner of the Harbor House Inn. The idea was to transform the town into Whooville and include everyone, including all the military families, in the process.

It's so good to see families taking pictures with the Harbor in the background - so beautiful! We are located near Fort Drum - our Army military base. They are such an important part of our community. Military students are in every school district in our county (Jefferson).
