New York Mills Police are investigating an early morning shots fired incident in the area of Sauquoit Street.

Police say, officers arrived on scene and located spent shell casings.

They learned that the shots were fired at the residence on Sauquoit Street, striking it and hitting the nearby detached garage.

During the course of the investigation, officers were attempting to secure evidence and were obstructed by the residents at 25 Sauquoit Street.

33-year-old Darren Garcia was taken into custody and was charged with Obstructing Governmental Administration and Resisting Arrest.
