Some would say that is a match made in heaven, the Hops Spot opens at 3 pm today at 116 Walton street if that sounds familiar it was the spot most recently occupied by Aster Pantry & Parlor and before that Small Plates Detroit.

The Hops Spot does indeed feature beer, it has 42 draft taps plus about a dozen burgers (including building your own) and 10 versions of poutine, that gift from our friends to the north.

The draft list is extensive: The 42 taps serve beer from major national craft brewers like DogfishHead, New Belgium, and Firestone Walker, hot and trendy brands like Lord Hobo, and New York state breweries like Ommegang, common Roots and Rare Form.

You'll also see beers fromSkewed Brewing Company of Watertown which makes sense as Hops Spot is owned by Ryan and Cheryl Chaif also own Skewed which operates a brewpub in Salmon Run Mall and recently relocated its production to a site in Lowville.
