The Yankees grabbed the rubber-match of the Subway Series Part 2 this weekend, and took the overall season series 4-2 with a decisive 11-2 drubbing of the slumping Mets on Sunday night.

The Yanks have won 5 of 7 heading into Toronto tonight, trailing the Jays by 2.5 games. While it isn't official yet, the Yankees have all-but punched their ticket to the postseason with a Wild Card spot, at worst (NYY leads the third team in the Wild Card chase by 6.5 games).

Meanwhile, the Mets' offense seems to have gone into a funk just as suddenly as the once light-hitting club became a powerhouse six weeks ago at the trade deadline. Yoenis Cespedes and the rest of Terry Collins' bunch have now lost 4 of 5. In those four losses, the Mets have scored three of fewer runs in each, including two shutouts.

The Mets hold a 6-game lead over Washington in NL East with each club having 14 games to play - including a head-to-head series at Citi Field on the final three days of the regular season. New York hosts Atlanta for the start of a three-games series tonight.
