Maple bacon cannoli anyone? Sounds like something you'd get at the New York state fair, but the unique creation is actually from a central New York restaurant.

Bacon makes everything better. Mix it with maple and stuff it inside a chocolate shell...brilliant! You can try one at Vescio's Franklin Hotel in Rome, a family-run restaurant for more than 4 decades. There's also a location right down from our radio station on River Road in Marcy.

Sounds like I'll be making a trip to the Franklin. My mouth is already watering. I'll let you know how they taste.

UPDATE: We tried them and they are DELICIOUS! If you love bacon, you'll love these tasty treats. But you'll need to get some early. The maple bacon cannolis are so popular they are flying off Vescio's shelves.
