Kinks fans don't hold your breathe waiting for the band to reunite for new music or a tour. The Kinks most well known members, brothers Ray and Dave Davies, still can't stand one another. Speaking to the UK's Daily Mail, Dave Davies made it perfectly clear that the Kinks are done:

There will not be reunion of The Kinks. Not now. Not in the future. Never. ‘I think the music is so beautiful it shouldn’t be tainted,’ he says. ‘It would be a shame. You don’t need to see silly old men in wheelchairs singing You Really Got Me. - Daily Mail

Original Kinks' bassist Pete Quaife died last year, leaving Ray, Dave and drummer Mick Avory the band's surviving members. The Kinks' last original album was 1993's Phobia. In 1999 the original foursome took part in some studio sessions for a planned comeback but none of the songs have been released.
