If you're looking for some safe family fun for Halloween in Rome, John E. Joy Elementary School is hosting a “trunk-or-treat” event for the school’s students and families.

This event will be held on Thursday October 29th from 5:30PM - 6:30PM, and will be practicing social distancing due to COVID-19. The event is for Joy students and families only, and for grades K-2. The Rome Sentinel reports that it will be a drive-thru experience taking advantage of the school’s bus loop.

Participants are invited to “put on your costume, pull up in your car and let the Joy community fill up your bag with treats,” according to the announcement, plus they can “feel free to decorate your vehicle and make it a ‘Drive-Boo.’”

All students must come in a vehicle, no walk-ups will be permitted. People are asked to remain in their vehicles at all times.
