This Little Pink Cakesicle Cart in CNY Sells Out Almost as Fast as It's Restocked
A bright pink cart is catching a lot of people's attention in Central New York, and after hearing all the buzz, it was time to see what the excitement was all about.
The answer? Cakesicles.
If you're wondering what a cakesicle is, imagine a cake pop... but bigger, on a stick, and shaped like a popsicle.
Santana Block is making these sweet treats, dipping them in chocolate, and creating a dessert that's quickly becoming a local favorite in Westmoreland.
It Started With a Social Media Idea
The idea for the cakesicle cart came after Santana saw someone else doing a similar cart on social media. She thought it was a fun idea and decided to give it a try to see what would happen.

Before the cart, Santana had already been making cakesicles for neighbors and parties for the past few months. She never expected it to take off quite as it has.
"It's been pretty popular," Santana said.
Less Than a Week Open... and Already Selling Out
The cart had only been open for less than a week when the demand started rolling in. On Saturday morning, we stopped by, and Santana had already needed to restock after being open just a couple of hours.
"It has just taken off pretty quickly," she said.
She even had to close on day two to make more. While she was busy baking and dipping more cakesicles in chocolate, seven people messaged asking if she was open.
That's when you know you've created something people really want.
Different Flavors, Same Delicious Treat
The flavors change, so each visit could bring something new. The cart is filled with different cakesicle creations, all made by Santana.
We gave two flavors a try: The Funfetti and the Pretzel Crunch.
Both were absolutely delicious. The combination of cake, chocolate, and fun toppings makes it easy to understand why people keep stopping by and why Santana keeps having to refill the cart.
A Simple Honor System
The cakesicle cart runs on the honor system. Customers grab their treats, drop cash in the box or scan the Venmo QR code, and enjoy.
Santana hasn't even created a business page yet because she wanted to see how things went before taking that next step. She just wasn't prepared for how many people would show up looking for cakesicles.
