The official iPhone 6S release date is Friday, September 25 in stores. It was available to pre-order online on Saturday, September 12 and is now sold out.  Now What?

The price is starting at $649 (same as last year's iPhone 6) or $199 with a 2-year contract. A few of the upgrades people are excited about is:

  • More durable thanks to the 7000 series aluminium the same that's used in the aerospace industry
  • The glass is the strongest in the industry made with a dual ion exchange process
  • 3D Touch
  • Improved camera with a 12MP camera sensor
  • Twice as fast Wi-Fi

It's being reported that Apple expects to break last year's record of 10 million iPhones sold during the first week of availability.

Syracuse.com is reporting that Destiny USA announced it will leave its doors open Thursday, Sept. 24, until stores open Friday. Customers are invited to use the entrance underneath the food court and Carousel at any hour to wait in line in front of any store selling the new iPhone. There is no word yet from Sangertown Square Mall.
