Have you ever wanted to compete in an Iron Man challenge? Well you can now you’re your strength right here in Utica. There is a Mighty Run coming up next May and you can be a part of it…if, of course, you’re mighty enough.

Masonic Care Community Development Director Jon-Paul Kidwell announced The Mighty Run, will take place May 4, 2013. The "5k Mighty Run" is a team race made up of 12 military-style obstacles on a pretty challenging course. Teamwork, strength, and agility will be tested as more than 4,000 athletes trudge through fire, water, and mud. Registration begins August first.

“Kidwell took the opportunity to taunt local law enforcement, including Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol into participating, saying that the cops would have a chance to prove which force was the mightiest. Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi and his family, Utica Mayor Robert Palmieri, and a host of community leaders were there to say that they’d be running. Brindisi said that his family would run, and Palmieri Chief of Staff Jim Murphy said he would be the first to sign up for the City’s team.”

Would you run in this event?
