‘Grandma Died’ Billboard in Rome Calls for Cuomo Impeachment
Have you seen the billboard in Rome that calls for Governor Andrew Cuomo to be impeached, for killing grandma?
The new electronic billboard sign that reads: "Grandma died. Andrew Cuomo made millions. #ImpeachCuomo" is at the Griffiss Business and Technology Park in Rome at the Black River Boulevard entrance.
Jim Zecca shared a picture of the billboard on Facebook, saying "Cuomo’s got to go."
This isn't the first public call for the removal of Governor Cuomo in Central New York. The Mohawk Valley Main Street Patriots recently held a “Cuomo Must Go” rally outside the State Office Building in Downtown Utica.
The group is petitioning state representatives to have Governor Cuomo removed from office over the COVID-19 nursing home deaths, sexual harassment claims and the new Bail Reform law.
The FBI and federal prosecutors are investigating nursing home deaths in New York state, according to the New York Times, and whether false data was provided to minimizing the death toll.
Sexual Harassment
Several women have come forward, claiming Governor Cuomo's actions made them uncomfortable. Karen Hinton, a consultant to HUD, told The Washington Post Cuomo hugged her after a work event
"She pulled away from Cuomo, but he pulled her back toward his body, holding her before she backed away and left the room."
Cuomo denied the allegations and apologized for any behavior interpreted as inappropriate. However, the Governor isn't stepping down despite calls from leaders for him to do so, even within his own party.
''I was elected by the people of the state, I wasn't elected by politicians. I'm not gonna resigns because of allegations.'' Cuomo told reporters in a media conference call Sunday. ''The premise of resigning because of allegations is actually anti-Democratic,'' he said.
