The key to a designated driver is to have someone who isn't drunk drive you home. Apparently that lesson needs to be learned in Oregon.

Luckily no one got hurt, but it was a pretty close call. One of the officers saw the car coming, and pulled the other out of the way before a 2003 Ford Focus plowed into the rear of one of the police cars.

The city officers told the county deputy who investigated the crash that they got out of the way with seconds to spare. The impact pushed the first police car into the rear of the car ahead of it, the sheriff's office said. None of the 5 people involved reported any injuries.

Deputies arrested the driver and charged her with four counts of Reckless Endangering Another Person and one count of DUII. Tests found that the driver had a blood alcohol level that was twice the legal limit.

So much for being responsible.
