Deion Sanders, one of the most notorious NFL defensive backs of all-time, is entering a new field. Sanders was granted a charter by the Texas State Board of Education to develop and open PrimeU Prep Academy, a school that will combine academic pursuits with athletic aspirations, according to reports.

“It was pretty much one of the best moments of my life because it’s not about you,” Sanders said. “It’s about the countless number of kids that will be blessed from this school.”

The school is slotted to begin classes next fall and will cater to kids in kindergarten through 12th grade. Sanders will join Andre Agassi, another former athlete who opened his own charter school, Andre Agassi College Preparatory Academy, in 2001.
