National Weather Service meteorologist Bob Hamilton tells Syracuse.com 'We're definitely in lake snow season.'

10 years ago, October 13, 2006, Buffalo got hammered with 2 feet of snow that killed 3 people. On October 18, 2015, Oswego County had 9 inches of lake effect snow.

Lake effect snow is creeping into some forecasts like Wayne and Northern Cayuga Counties. With the cold front moving in this weekend over Lake Ontario in conjunction with Hurrican Matthew it could be cold enough to see some lake effect snow Sunday morning.

Time will tell as we get closer to the weekend. One thing we know for sure in Central New York is the weather is constantly changing. Sometimes very quickly.
