The Utica Comets say their winning streak snapped on Sunday in Charlotte in a 2-1 overtime defeat to the Checkers.

Utica had won four straight coming in, but still earns a point for the OT loss.

Lukas Jasek gave the Comets a 1-0 lead in the second period, but Charlotte would answer with just ten seconds remaining in the period on a goal from Morgan Geekie. Both teams went scoreless in the third. Then, just 22 seconds into overtime, Aleksi Saarela beat Thatcher Demko to end it.

Utica's point streak stands at five games. The Comets will stay in Charlotte for another meeting with the Checkers on Tuesday night.
