April 7 is National Beer Day, and since the beer gods decided to give us this day on a Friday we thought we'd help you find a great place to celebrate.

Central New York has no shortages of places to get a beer, but we are also lucky enough to have some unique spots for tipping back a tall cold one.

So the next time you're looking for a great beer in a great atmosphere, or if you want to impress out-of-towners, use this handy list.

Here's your CNY Local Beer Bucket List in no particular order:

F.X. Matt Brewery's 1888 Tavern - Utica

Take the brewery tour or just stop in to enjoy the old-fashioned speakeasy style bar. You'll be able to sample the great line of Saranac beer, including some of their smaller batch brews. Don't forget, Saranac is constantly releasing seasonal recipes, so every season brings new flavors.

Woodland Farm Brewery - Marcy

CNY's newest craft brewery opened its doors in early 2016. You won't find anything but hand-crafted beer perfection. With a style for every beer drinker, grab a pint and sit out on the deck to take in the gorgeous views of the Mohawk Valley.

Nail Creek Pub & Brewery - Utica

Located just a few steps from the F.X. Matt Brewery, Nail Creek brews their own beer in-house along with offering other top of the line craft brews. They take craft beer very seriously, so don't expect to find macro-brewed 'light beer.'

Brewery Ommegang - Cooperstown

With the best of the old-world style Belgian brewing and classic American craft styles, you'll have a ton of fun finding something that appeals to you. Ommegang sits on a beautiful piece of land in Cooperstown, where you'll feel like you've escaped into another world while you sip and chat on their patio.

Fulton Chain Craft Brewery - Old Forge

If there are many better things than enjoying a craft beer while sitting in the heart of the Adirondacks, we don't want to know about them. Fulton Chain Brewery makes their beer with 100% New York State hops and 85% NYS grain. Their beer list has something for everyone too. From a light cream ale to their chocolate raspberry stout, we dare you to not find something you like. A true Adirondack beer drinking experience.
