Central New York Kids Star In National Holiday Special
Did you see A Christmas Story Live! on Fox? Did you know two of the stars are from CNY?
A Christmas Story Live! on Fox was a smashing success, but did you know you were watching some of CNY's best-talented kids as well? Tyler Wladis of Fayetteville played Randy, Ralphie Parker's little brother who hates meatloaf and was bundled up for the short walk (or roll) to school. You also caught a glimpse of Sauquoit native Allie Kiesel who gained notoriety nationwide for her Quilted Northern commercial.
Allie was one of Ralphies classmates. She took part in some of the jokes played on the teacher and witnessed "Stuck! Stuck!" as Flick got his tongue stuck to the flagpole that brought the fire department to the school.
Matthew Broderick was the narrator and played grown-up Ralphie as 11-year-old Andy Walken plays the central role of Ralphie. Jane Krakowski was Ralphie’s teacher Miss Shields, Chris Diamantopoulos and SNL veteran Maya Rudolph were Ralphie’s parents.
SNL alum Ana Gasteyer played Mrs. Schwartz, Ralphie’s mother. We also saw David Alan Grier as Santa Claus, Ken Jeong as the Christmas tree salesman and a restaurant owner.
Did you miss the show? Well, watch it now on Hulu. The Original Soundtrack Recording of A Christmas Story Live! is also available in all digital and streaming formats according to Playbill.com. Did you see the show? What did you think?
It looks like there's no lack of talent in CNY. With all the great contacts they're making I'm sure the best is yet to come. Congrats kids!
