Earlier this week, geeks and nerds all over the planet got excited thinking that Carrie Fisher said "yes" when she was asked if she's going to reprise her role as Princess Leia in the upcoming "Star Wars" movies. Guess what? Apparently she was “joking”.

Her rep said she was joking. Sorry to break your hears, but look at it likes this. It doesn't mean it isn't happening. The rep just vaguely says, quote, "Nothing has been announced."

George Lucas tells Business Week:

"We'd already signed Mark and Carrie and Harrison . . . or we were pretty much in final stages of negotiation . . . maybe I'm not supposed to say that . . .I think [Disney] wants to announce that with some big whoop-de-do, but we were negotiating with them. I won't say whether the negotiations were successful or not."

That being said, it's unclear how long ago these negotiations were. Mark has said George called them last summer to say the new trilogy was happening. Mark didn't say if he, Carrie or Harrison were on board. Elsewhere in the interview, George says that he doesn't have "final say" over the movies, but he can contribute. The interview is pretty good, and you can read the full article by Clicking Here.
