We were sold on 'Captain America 2' before the new featurette arrived and got us pumped to see Anthony Mackie's Sam Wilson, aka The Falcon, in action. Despite being used in the trailers and getting a character poster or two, we had yet to fully understand what purpose he would serve in the film ... until now.

This new featurette, courtesy of USA Today, is quick, but packed with new footage and character details. It seems that in the dark and complicated underbelly of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Wilson is one of the only guys Steve Rogers can trust. Thankfully, he happens to also be a highly skilled badass with his own pair of retractable wings that allow him to take to the skies, so he's a pretty good ally to have.

If you want more Falcon (and you probably will), a new clip from the film arrived, as well. Taken from what appears to be a climactic action scene, the footage finds Cap and the Falcon battling bad guys on the air and ground (well, the ground of the floating S.H.I.E.L.D. base). In typical Marvel Studios fashion, it all looks very big and slick, although the footage has undoubtedly been edited down a bit for brief internet consumption.

As a reminder, 'Captain America 2' (officially titled 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier') flies into theaters on April 4.
