Jon Bon Jovi’s Daughter, Stephanie Bongiovi, Arrested For Heroin At Hamilton College
Clinton, NY (WIBX) - The daughter of a famous rock star is facing drug charges after Kirkland Police say heroin, marijuana and other drug paraphernalia was found in a dorm at Hamilton College.
Kirkland Police responded to the Dunham Dorm shortly before 2 a.m. for a woman who allegedly overdosed on heroin. Officers were able to recover a small quantity of heroin during their initial search.
The Oneida County Drug Task Force later returned with search warrant for the dorm, and found the other drugs.
Officers arrested Stephanie Bongiovi, 19, from Red Bank, New Jersey, and charged her with criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of marijuana and criminally using drug paraphernalia, all misdemeanors.
Another Hamilton College student from Red Bank, New Jersey, Ian Grant, 21, was also arrested. He faces one count of criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Both were released back to Hamilton College and will face the Town of Kirkland Court at a later date.
Other agencies assisting at the scene included the Central Oneida County Volunteer Ambulance, Clinton Fire Department, Hamilton College EMS and Hamilton College Campus Safety.
Jon Bon Jovi is scheduled to hold a concert on December 5 in New York City to benefit a scholarship fund at Hamilton College.
Though the Kirkland Police Department has declined to offer a statement, Hamilton College released this statement:
In addition to violating state law, the actions alleged to have been committed by the students violate Hamilton College policy. The college is cooperating with the police investigation. Our first concern is always for the safety of our students. Out of respect for the privacy of our students and in accordance with federal regulations we do not discuss individual health or disciplinary matters.
