Billy Joel Marries Girlfriend On Independence Day

Billy Joel married pregnant girlfriend Alexis Roderick in a surprise ceremony at the couple's annual Independence Day party at the singer's Long Island estate according to People Magazine.

Guests were pleasantly surprised with the intimate wedding. New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo presided over Saturday’s nuptials. Also in attendance was Joel's good friend Kevin James and Alexa Ray Joel, his daughter with his second wife, model Christie Brinkley.

66-year old Billy Joel and 33-year-old Alexis Broderick have been a couple since 2009 and are expecting a little girl this summer. Alexis is an accomplished equestrian and a former Morgan Stanley executive.

Billy's spokeswoman said in a statement:

The newlyweds "surprised guests at their annual July 4th party by exchanging vows in front of their family and close friends,"

It's been a busy week for Billy Joel. Not only does he get married, but on Wednesday he surpassed Elton John for the most performances by any artist at Madison Square Garden.
