UPDATE: The ban has been cancelled.

The heavy snow and strong winds will make travel throughout parts of New York nearly impossible. The National Weather Service has issued Blizzard Warnings and Winter Storm Watches in several counties. The storm is causing a ban on empty tractor trailers on parts of I-90.

The New York State Thruway Authority has issued a ban on empty tractor trailers until further notice. The ban is from the Lackawanna Toll Barrier to the Pennsylvania state line.

The storm has the National Weather Service issuing several Winter Storm Warnings and Watches as well as Blizzard Warnings across parts of New York State. Strong winds will create whiteout conditions and difficult to impossible travel in some areas, including Buffalo and the Tug Hill region.
