Louisiana blues artist Kenny Neal put on a great show at the Mohawk Valley Blues Festival. He's very entertaining and so much fun to be around. Kenny and his band, most of which are his family, have a great time on stage.

Kenny Neal mastered the bass, trumpet, piano, guitar and harmonica. He’s shared the stage or worked with B.B. King, Bonnie Raitt, Muddy Waters, Aaron Neville, Buddy Guy and John Lee Hooker. He also fronted Canada’s Downchild Blues Band, before returning to Baton Rouge to begin his solo career.

In the video below you will hear Kenny talking about the 'good old times' performing in Syracuse with his Father Raful Neal and his Sister Jackie Neal who have both passed away. He talks about playing in Utica and Ithaca in the late 80's and 90's. You may remember him from Copperfield's, Syracuse Blues Festival or The Beginnings.

Kenny Neal's new CD called Bloodline is due out soon and getting a lot of attention from the Blues community.

I asked Kenny if he has any advice for up and coming musicians and this is what he said.
