April is World Autism Awareness Month and on average 1 out of every 59 children will be diagnosed with some form of Autism Spectrum Disorder. So during the month of April, many organizations raise autism awareness with unique fundraising and special events.

Thursday, April 30th is the Oak Tree Celebrity Pasta Dinner at the BOCES Glenwood Education Center in the Student Cafeteria, 435 Glenwood Road in Binghamton. This is an event that Tara and I look forward to every year. Last year I missed it because I was a Harlem Globetrotter for a day but I'm back and I can't wait.

The Johnson City Police Association is starting its 2020 Autism Awareness T-Shirt fundraiser now. All proceeds go to "Alive With Autism", an amazing local non-profit that provides support for individuals and families with Autism in our community.

Shirts are only $15 each with adult and youth sizes available. You have until Saturday, April 4th to put in your order with many shipping options available. The PBA will have a designated shirt pic up at the JCPD on Wednesday, April 22nd from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Go here to place your online order now. No shirts will be available to buy at the pick-up spot so order yours now. Any questions can be directed to Ptl. Joshua Bilek at jbilek@jcpolice.com.
