Looking to kick back with a good book or catch some Zs on your next flight? That may not happen if a new idea from Virgin Atlantic catches on.

For a limited time, the carrier will offer live stand-up comedy and music on domestic flights in the UK.

The comedians will go for yuks on flights this month while they travel to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland. The music will begin next month to help celebrate the “rich music scenes in Scotland and Manchester.”

It’s unclear what acts will be on specific flights, so if you find yourself on a flight with a guy who’s bombing -- and bombing on a plane is a terrible idea -- just make sure to do your best not to walk out.

And let's hope there's no two-drink minimum. Between excess baggage and booking fees, no amount of chuckles is going to make the price worth it for passengers.

Virgin Atlantic founder Richard Branson explained the unusual gimmick by saying, “In true Virgin Atlantic spirit we’re doing something a little different and providing our passengers with a line-up of gigs to ensure we offer a truly unforgettable flying experience.”
