
7 People Fall Into Gorge at Letchworth State Park, 1 Still Missing
UPDATE 6:30pm: One of the two children that fell over the lower falls at Letchworth State Park has been found dead.
7 people went into the gorge Saturday, June 11th. 5 were rescued Saturday night and 2 boys, aged 6 and 9 were still missing. One of the boy's bodies was found Sunday and the search for the other has now turned into a recovery.
Original story: 4 of the 7 people, who are said to be from the Rochester area, were rescued Saturday, June 11th after going over the lower falls at Letchworth State Park around 7pm, according to WHEC. All were taken to the hospital with non life threatening injuries.
Police say one child slipped and as each tried to rescue the other, the domino effect knocked them all over the falls.
