26 Pound Cats Need A Diet And Loving CNY Home

Yogi and Fluff may be overweight, but that doesn't make them any less cute and loveable. Right?

Erin Insinga of the Delaware Valley Humane Society says the cats were rescued from a newspaper ad. It's common practice when they have room to make sure pets are going to qualified, healthy homes.

After Yogi and Fluff's owner was moved into a nursing home, someone would stop in 10 minutes per day to check on them. The helper may have been a family friend but was a stranger to the cats, and they would run and hide. They have not had any human interaction or exercise since December 2019.

Delaware Valley Humane Society says the males Yogi and Fluff must be adopted together as they are very bonded, there is also a female, Honey, who weighs 24 lbs that can be taken separately. Insinga tells us:

The cats were very well cared for, they are fully vetted, fixed and up to date on all shots. They are ready to go to.

The adopters must have a calm home, no dogs, no children, and must be willing to put them on a structured healthy food regimen that includes exercise, something as simple as playing and bonding with the cats. The average weight for a short hair tabby like this is 10 to 12 pounds.

So, what does it take to adopt from DVHS?
*Fill out and submit an application. Adoption Application
*Applicants must be 21 years of age or older.
*Provide 2 personal references
*Provide a Veterinarian reference to verify that you have an account in good standing,    that past and current animals were kept up to date on vaccinations & spayed/neutered, and received regular care.
*If you rent, you must provide written approval from your landlord.
