Two Antelopes have escaped from the property near The Wild Animal Park in the town of Sullivan according to the New York State Police.

At approximately 2 pm state police responded to 7591 Lakeport Road about two personally owned domesticated Eland antelopes that have escaped when an employee accidentally left a gate open.

Troopers checked for the antelopes but couldn't find them, police said. Employees from the animal park are now looking for the antelopes which pose no threat to the general public.

The property at 7591 Lakeport Road is owned by Jeffrey Taylor, according to the Madison County property records. Taylor is also the owner of The Wild Animal Park.

In 2009 a wallaroo escaped from Taylor's property and was hit by a car on the Thruway.
