The Utica Zoo Has a Special Event Planned for ‘National Wear Red Day’
Friday, February 3rd is “National Wear Red Day” to big awareness to women’s health, and more importantly, heart health. In honor of this important day, the Utica Zoo has something very special planned.
It called their “Red Tea Party,” and it’s sure to be a great event. According to the Utica Zoo,
…[There will be a] presentation by Maureen Christenson about the benefits of tea, a sampling of red teas, and a talk about the hearts of our red animals at the zoo: red pandas, red foxes, and our red-tailed hawk…
The event is free, you just have to pay your admission into the zoo. They do ask that you register for this event, seeing that it’s limited to the first 40 people. There are still spots available, and you can register by visiting: Eventbrite/e/red-tea-party-at-utica-zoo
Sip some tea, learn about the drinks, and get some information on the hearts of animals at the zoo, this Friday from 3:30pm to 5pm. And it’s all for heart health and “National Wear Red Day.” You can get more details by visiting the Utica Zoo’s Facebook Page.
The Utica Zoo isn’t the only place in Central New York celebrating “National Wear Red Day,” either. Businesses, organizations, and landmarks throughout the area have taken the “Red Pledge” and will bring awareness to the day by having their employees wear red, decorating in red, and turning on red string lights and flood lights at 4pm.
Not only that, but there is a special “National Wear Red Day Luncheon” at the Beeches Inn and Conference Center starting at noon. There will be speakers who have been affected by heart issues, and there will be important messages about how you can protect yourself from heart disease and heart attacks.
