The same weekend Steve Buscemi picked up a Best Actor in a Drama Golden Globe award for his work in HBO's Boardwalk Empire, a man in the town famous for beer, Milwaukee, created a scene right out of the prohibition era.

Wielding a metal pipe, our tea-totaling friend attacked a truckload of beer as it was being delivered to a grocery store, destroying about $2,000 worth of suds. While whacking away at the cases of canned beer, the attacker scolded the deliverymen for bringing what he called poison into his neighborhood. But he may have hurt his cause more than helped it as several passers-by helped themselves to some of the cases of beer as the deliveryman tried to talk the man into putting the pipe down. Nirmal Singh, owner of Mid-Town Grocery said, "He beat on the beer for about a half hour, then he got tired and sat down against the wall and waited for the police." When they showed up they arrested him. Singh, who has operated the store for about 13 years added, "Nothing like this has ever happened here. No robberies, no nothing until this."
