Lucille Désirée Ball was born on August 6, 1911, in Jamestown, New York, a quaint town which sits on the edge of Chautauqua lake and while her exciting life would lead her to live in places such as Michigan, Montana, New Jersey, and California, it was New York that Lucille returned to when she needed to escape her high profile life.
Chenango Lake is just east of Norwich and is the spot where Lucille Ball decided to vacation, a place where she could escape from the flashes of the camera and relax.
