The results are in! According to Guinness World Records, Corduroy the Cat is the oldest feline in the world! He is 26 years old and he lives with his owner in Oregon. The average lifespan for a domesticated cat is 15 years. Corduroy is still going strong! The 'nine lives' rule for cats must really apply to him.
Like father, like daughter. Byron Schlenker of Syracuse holds the Guinness Book of World Record for the widest tongue at 8.57 centimeters. Now his 14 year-old daughter Emily holds the record for widest female tongue at 7.33 centimeters.
