From time to time, we like to check on some of the artists we haven't heard from in a while and ask, "where are they now"? If you like the music of the 60s and 70s, the name Art Garfunkel brings back memories of Simon & Garfunkel and a successful solo career as well.

By 1968, Simon & Garfunkel had produced a string of folk-rock hits that included ‘The Sound of Silence,’ 'I Am a Rock' and ‘Mrs. Robinson.' But their chart success brought the duo criticism from folk music purists.

The year was 1981. You may remember listening to me back then on Rock 107 (oh how the times have changed). I remember watching on TV that night catching news clips from New York City. Simon and Garfunkel were performing their historic “The Concert In Central Park” show. I remember seeing a massive crowd of people, and I remember the good tunes.

Fans of the ’60s folk movement are in for an extra treat with the release of ‘Legends of Folk: The Village Scene’ — a new DVD packed with vintage performances by the musical icons of that time.

Paul Simon has announced plans to continue touring this fall. 2011 has already been a very busy touring year for Simon,  the most touring the singer has done in quite some time, however Simon plans to play a dozen additional cities this fall with more shows in the works...

A new documentary based on the 25th anniversary of Paul Simon's "Graceland" album will make its debut next year at the Sundance Film Festival. Director Joe Berlinger, who won an Emmy and a Peabody award for his 1996 documentary "Paradise Lost", says the new Simon documentary focuses on Paul's return to Africa: "It's all about the musicians he hadn't seen in all these years

Art Garfunkel says he is in good voice as the 40th anniversary of Simon and Garfunkel’s classic album “Bridge Over Troubled Water” approaches. “Bridge” came out in 1970 just before he and Paul Simon parted ways, but Garfunkel still performs some of the duo’s hits on tour, and he is planning to start recording the material again...
