Hector’s Cafe and Diner, a New York staple known for its no-frills meals and role in Taxi Driver, will close on July 18 after 76 years in business. The iconic spot will be replaced by the Whitney Museum.
The new division will address non-emergency issues that many New Yorkers say are eating away at their sanity: illegal mopeds, outdoor drug use, reckless drivers, and loud parties.
