Letchworth State Park

Letchworth State Park, considered the 'Grand Canyon of the East' announced the opening of a $2 million recreation area and a restored boathouse for whitewater rafting, just over 2 hours from Utica.

For more than 100 years a railroad trestle has stood the test of time over the Genesee River at Letchworth State Park. Like anything else that is over 100 years, old bits and pieces of the 1,050-ton structure has been falling or have been removed.

The power of social media has uncovered the identity of the couple who got engaged at Letchworth State Park. Melody Jett caught the proposal and turned to Facebook to find the happy couple.

UPDATE 6:30pm: One of the two children that fell over the lower falls at Letchworth State Park has been found dead.

As we watch the summer come to a close, this is where we usually try to cram in as many summer activities as possible, as we go "Where did the summer go!"  Tons going on right now and coming up...state fair, Inflatable 5k, Labor Day Weekend, etc.  This past weekend we ventured somewhere that was new to us.
