With the 50th anniversary of the Grateful Dead's formation coming up in 2015, Bob Weir is urging the group's surviving founding members to put aside their differences for some sort of commemorative event.
The 10th annual Mountain Jam Festival will take place at the Hunter Mountain ski resort in Hunter, N.Y., from June 5-8. The initial lineup for the fest has just been revealed. An additional major headliner is reportedly still to be announced.
The two incidents may be unrelated, but five days after Bob Weir collapsed onstage during his band Furthur's set in Port Chester, N.Y., the group has canceled its headlining set at the BottleRock Napa Valley Festival in Napa, Calif. They were set to perform on May 9.
I saw him perform with former Grateful Dead band member Bruce Hornsby last summer but last week, Bob Weir collapsed onstage Thursday while playing 'Unbroken Chain' at a 'Further' concert. Apparently he sustained a shoulder injury while working out and was on medication for it which affected his balance.
