Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) Restricted Zones have been expanded by the Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) and merged into a single Restricted Zone in an attempt to slow the spread of this invasive beetle.

DEC staff discovered the presence of Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) in Rome, NY as a result of the regular monitoring efforts to detect the beetle.

If you ever wanted to know the definition of irony, I would have to say this story pretty much sums it up.
